Kenya Safari
Kenya safari
A safari in Kenya is an unforgettable experience filled with wonder and adventure. The African savannah comes alive with wildlife and natural beauty. On a typical one week Kenya safari, you’ll visit some of the best national parks and game reserves in all of Africa.
The trip begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling capital city. From there you’ll fly over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is famous for its incredible annual wildebeest migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebra make their way across the plains in search of fresh grazing land. You’re almost guaranteed to spot the Big Five animals – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. But you’ll also see cheetah, hippos, giraffe, and countless birds. During your multi-day stay in the Mara, enjoy game drives both in the early morning and evening, when animal watching is at its best. The vistas will take your breath away.
Next up is Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya. Samburu is renowned for its population of reticulated giraffes and Somali elephants. Be on the lookout too for exotic species like the gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich. Cool off at the crocodile-filled Ewaso Ng’iro River that runs through the park.
From Samburu you’ll head southeast to Lake Nakuru National Park. The massive lake is home to over one million lesser flamingos, giving the water a bright pink hue. Look for white and black rhinos, as well as mountain reedbuck and zebras along the shoreline. Your safari finishes at the famed Masai Mara once more, where you’ll enjoy one final dawn hot air balloon ride over the Mara plains before flying back to Nairobi.
By the end of your Kenya safari, you’ll have seen Africa’s iconic wildlife up close in their natural habitat. You’ll develop a deep appreciation for these magnificent lands and animals. The adventure of a Kenya safari creates unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime memories that will last forever.
