Safari Trip

The Serengeti ecosystem in northern Tanzania truly is a wildlife lover’s paradise. Spanning over 14,763 square kilometers, you’ll find vast open grasslands, rivers, and acacia woodlands teeming with diverse animals. During the Great Migration from December to June, over 1.5 million hooved animals including zebras and wildebeests follow the rains while being preyed upon by lions, leopards and cheetahs. You simply must witness this spectacular natural phenomenon! I’d recommend a 6-night itinerary including two nights at each of Klein’s Camp, Serengeti Under Canvas, and Grumeti River Camp. These luxury tented camps offer stunning views and guiding to maximize game viewing from open-top vehicles. Not only will you experience the Migration up close, but night drives also allow glimpses of nocturnal lives.

Kruger is another superb option covering nearly 2 million hectares of South Africa. With over 500 bird and 150 mammal species, there is incredible diversity from elephants to hyenas to rare black rhinos. For a more intimate experience, I suggest exploring three different restcamps over 6 nights like Lower Sabie, Skukuza or Pretoriuskop. Each offers rustic bungalow-style accommodation near a watering hole where animals frequent at dawn and dusk. Day and night game drives led by knowledgeable rangers/trackers put you within meters of wildlife. You’ll also encounter cultural attractions like local artisan villages along your travels.
