3-Days Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru

Start your day early and make your way to Lake Nakuru National Park from your accommodation. Begin your game drive in the park, exploring different sections and keeping an eye out for the variety of wildlife. Lake Nakuru is home to numerous animals, including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and antelopes.
Take a break for a picnic lunch at one of the designated picnic spots within the park. Continue your game drive in the afternoon, exploring different areas and enjoying the scenic views around the lake. Visit Baboon Cliff, which offers panoramic views of the lake and is a great spot for bird watching. As the day comes to an end, exit the park and return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Day 2: Full in Lake Nakuru

Embark on an early morning game drive to witness the park’s wildlife during their most active hours. Explore different parts of the park that you may have missed on the previous day. Visit the Makalia Falls, a picturesque waterfall within the park, and enjoy the serene surroundings. Take a break for lunch, either at a designated picnic spot or at a lodge within the park. After lunch, you can choose to go for a guided walking safari or a bird-watching excursion. Lake Nakuru National Park is a birding paradise, with over 400 bird species recorded, including thousands of flamingos that gather along the lake’s shores. End the day with another game drive, capturing the beauty of the park’s landscapes and wildlife. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Depart from Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Wake up early and have breakfast at your accommodation in Lake Nakuru. Check out of your accommodation and prepare for the journey. If you have time and are interested, you can opt for a short morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park before departing. This will give you a chance to spot any wildlife you may have missed during your previous visits. Once you’re ready to leave, drive out of Lake Nakuru National Park and head south toward Nairobi. The distance between Lake Nakuru and Nairobi is approximately 160 kilometers (100 miles), and the journey usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours by road, depending on traffic conditions. Enjoy the scenic drive as you pass through the beautiful landscapes of the Rift Valley and its surrounding areas. Along the way, you may choose to make a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to admire the stunning vistas and capture some photos.
