3-Days Tsavo National Park

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Tsavo National Park

Start your day early in Nairobi and arrange for a private transfer or join a guided tour to Tsavo National Park. The journey from Nairobi to Tsavo takes approximately 4-5 hours, depending on traffic and the specific location within the park. Enjoy the scenic drive as you pass through rural landscapes and possibly stop at viewpoints along the way. Arrive at your chosen accommodation within Tsavo National Park and check-in. After settling in, have lunch at the lodge or campsite. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive within the park to acquaint yourself with the wildlife and landscapes. You may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and other animals.

Return to your accommodation in the evening and have dinner.

Day 2: Tsavo West

Leave Tsavo East and drive to Tsavo West National Park, which offers a contrasting landscape with volcanic hills, dense forests, and the famous Mzima Springs. Explore the park’s diverse habitats on a morning game drive. Look for rhinos, leopards, buffalos, and other wildlife. Visit the Shetani Lava Flows, an otherworldly volcanic landscape shaped by ancient eruptions. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s scenic viewpoints or picnic areas. In the afternoon, head to Mzima Springs, a series of crystal-clear pools fed by underground streams. Here, you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and various fish species from an underwater viewing chamber. Spend the night at a lodge or campsite in Tsavo West.

Day 3: Combined Exploration and Departure

Start the day with a final game drive in Tsavo West to search for any wildlife you may have missed. Visit the Rhino Sanctuary, a protected area within the park where you can see endangered black rhinos up close. After the game drive, have breakfast at your lodge or campsite. If time permits, you can explore more of Tsavo West or return to your favorite spots for additional wildlife sightings. Depart from Tsavo National Park and head to your next destination.
