Luxury Safari

I’d recommend starting your African safari in Botswana, where you’ll stay at Xakanaxa Camp, located in the Okavango Delta. This private concession features just 6 luxurious tents, each with an open-air lounge and bedroom area, as well as an en-suite bathroom complete with a spacious outdoor shower. You’ll wake each morning to the calming sounds of the delta as you enjoy an gourmet breakfast prepared by your private chef.

After breakfast, your guide will take you on game drives through the delta in search of lions, leopards, elephants, and hippos. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, with meandering waterways crisscrossing grassy plains. At lunchtime you’ll stop to picnic under the shade of an acacia tree overlooking the watering hole, as animals come down to drink. In the evenings you can relax around the fire pit, swapping stories with other guests under a blanket of stars.

From Botswana, I’d then suggest flying to Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya to continue your safari adventure. Your lodge here will be situated right on the edge of the reserve, allowing phenomenal views across the savannah grasslands. Cottongrass tents feature floor-to-ceiling windows so you can watch the resident wildlife from the comfort of your bed.

Activities in Maasai Mara are just as exciting, with sightings of the famed wildebeest migration through July and August. Your guides are experts at spotting lions lounging under acacia trees, cheetahs stealthily stalking prey, and river crossings with thousands of wildebeest.
