Wild Life Safari
Wild life Safari
We began our journey deep in the plains of Africa, cruising along quiet dirt roads at sunrise to look for signs of activity among the grasslands. It wasn’t long before we glimpsed our first animals of the day – a large herd of graceful zebras, their stripes blending beautifully with the golden landscape as they grazed in the dawn light.
As the sun rose higher, warming the earth, we started to see more creatures emerging. A family of warthogs near a watering hole, trotting little ones in tow. A lone giraffe ambling by, its long neck scanning for treetop foliage. Colorful flocks of birds singing as they flitted between acacia trees. The noises and activities of the awaking wildlife sanctuary surrounded us on all sides.
Soon the heat of the day was upon us, so we parked near a wide watering hole to have a picnic lunch and do some observing. It wasn’t long before the animals came to quench their thirst. Hippos lounged and snuffled in the shallows, keeping a watchful eye. Wildebeests and impalas ventured tentatively to the edge, drinking fast in case of danger. From our hiding spot in the tall grass, we had a panoramic view of the oasis in action.
With full bellies from our meal, we set off once more as the afternoon wore on. Cresting a hill, we spotted spotted hyenas loping together in the distance, their spots merging as they roamed as a cohesive clan. As the sun began its descent, turning the sky brilliant shades of orange and pink, we came across a lion pride resting in the fading light. The lionesses dozed together while young cubs tussled and played, finding their footing in the wide world. It was a magical way to end our explorations for the day.
Darkness fell as we made our way back, and the nocturnal animals of the plains awakened under a sky full of glittering stars. After such a full day of wildlife wonders, I dropped you back home, tired but thrilled by all the amazing creatures we were gifted to observe up close on our African safari adventure. We began our journey deep in the plains of Africa, cruising along quiet dirt roads at sunrise to look for signs of activity among the grasslands.
